Paul Absoloms reserves will begin the 2008/09 season in North Berks Division 3 after storming Division 4 this season. 51 points from a maximum 60 ensured the title was sown up weeks from the end of the season. The title win was a repeat of the sides success in 1989 and marked Absolom's first piece of silverware since joining the club in 2004.
Other recent successes have seen Bob Gibbs guide Inter's second string to back to back Nairne Paul Cup wins at the turn of the century. The NP Cup win in 1998 was the clubs first trophy since the great reserve team of 1978 won the Jubilee Cup. After the retirements of many of the faces from that team, including Ron Harris, Darren Webb and Graham Alger, Absolom has rebuilt the side to be a force once again. Today’s team is built around the goals of Jonny Eudell, Ben Higgins, Adam Blaszko and Tom MacGregor up front, the vision of Stuart Head and Ben Corderoy in midfield and the leadership of Michael Phillips and Andy Corderoy at the back.
