After 5 Seasons out of the league, Harwell International ‘A’ burst back onto the scene in 2006 with Andrew King at the helm. A shaky start to the rookie managers career was soon overcome and King guided the side to an impressive 3rd place finish in Division 5. In the process his side ended as top scorers in all 5 divisions - clearly staking their claim as one of the most exciting sides in the clubs history.
The side had traditionally been the final stop off for many of Inter’s great players over the years. Names like Richie Robins, Dave Partridge, Tony Kneafsey and Pete Johnsey have all ended their illustrious football careers playing for Harwell’s third string. But now with King in charge he has a new vision for the side.
Inter’s youngest ever manager has turned to youth and is already reaping the rewards. King wasted no time in snapping up several highly rated youngsters including Jonny Eudell, Jamie Clarke, Chris Key and Jon Grenough. All went on to play key roles in Kings first season at the Lair with Eudell hitting 37 goals and ending the season in the 1st team.
King will be hoping to continue the form that his side hit at the end of last season and challenge for the Divison 5 title this time around.
